Mariëlla Goudberg

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist at Jeroen Bosch Hospital, The Netherlands.

“MAPLe® really helps us to properly diagnose the pelvic floor and to apply the right treatment…”

Mariëlla, with over 7 years at Jeroen Bosch Hospital, specializes in treating complex pelvic floor complaints. Patients are ideally referred to local physiotherapists first for nearby care. Since 2019, JBH established a multidisciplinary pelvic floor team comprising surgeons, gastroenterologists, gynecologists, and urologists, jointly evaluating and planning patient care. Pre-surgery, Mariëlla utilizes MAPLe for pelvic floor diagnosis, recognized by doctors for its diagnostic precision.

“Going into surgery with a healthy pelvic floor often provides a better result and a faster recovery…”

Elmer Mik

Patient, The Netherlands

Elmer Mik from Tiel, the Netherlands, suffered a serious spinal cord injury in 2022, leaving doctors doubtful about his ability to walk again. However, after months of rehabilitation, he experienced significant improvement, thanks in part to pelvic physiotherapy with MAPLe® at the Physiotherapy Centre, guided by Christel van de Groenekan. Through EMG diagnosis with MAPLe®, they discovered pelvic floor activity, leading to stability exercises and electrostimulation sessions. This innovative therapy not only enhanced bladder and rectum sensation but also provided newfound freedom and confidence in daily life. Elmer now receives weekly MAPLe® treatments, noting improved pelvic floor calmness and potential benefits for stability and mobility.

``Pelvic physiotherapy with MAPLe® has helped me to gain much more control over my bladder and bowels......``

Sandra Pommerel

Pelvic Physiotherapist, The Netherlands

I've been using MAPLe for 7 years now, since it was introduced. It's incredibly user-friendly for both pelvic physiotherapists and patients. One probe serves for both anal and vaginal measurements, as well as for biofeedback and electrostimulation. MAPLe's comprehensive measurements cover all sides and depths of the pelvic floor, unlike other devices. In my practice, MAPLe has been particularly effective for treating overactive bladder, often yielding results in just six sessions. The app helps patients understand their pelvic floor activity, enhancing motivation and treatment effectiveness. Additionally, MAPLe is useful for fecal incontinence and pelvic pain, with dedicated electrostimulation settings for specific conditions.

“…I use MAPLe® mainly with patients who have an overactive bladder; it gives great results in EMG, biofeedback and electrostimulation…”
